Now this more accurately reflects the color of this sewing machine. Notice the booklet under the foot peddle. Everything that came with the Atlas is the same sorta pink shade. I think its a really special find! If I could, I would probably cut back flips over it. ;0)

Here you can see the "Good housekeeping seal" and the gold tag that has a serial number and the words "Made by Master Craftsman in Japan". Click on the picture for a super closeup.

Next time I blog I will show you the inside of the booklet it came with. It has some cute images of the "happy homemaker" of that era.
Cheers!

Dear goddess, no black flips...at our age that means appointments with an orthopedist for certain. That foot pedal reminds me of the turquoise Kenmore my mom had. I should dig mine out and get busy with the quilted knitting bag I started a year or so ago. You're the third knitter I know to get back to sewing.
Hi,
I recently bought a machine very much like the one you have. The only difference I can see in the two is that mine has a clutch at the right knee instead of the foot pedal. I can't seem to find anything about this machine either on the internet. Is it considered vintage, maybe? Also, if you don't mind my asking, was yours very expensive? I bought mine for very little at a thrift shop and as far as I can tell it works good. It did need some cleaning. Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I don't know anything about sewing machines etc- other than they look pretty ;)
Thanks,
Judy
